The log-pile hide here has produced more published Hwange elephant photographs than anywhere else, sitting at eye level on the waterhole in front of camp. Rates are fully inclusive, from $774 per person a night, and unusually cover your park fees as well.

Getting there if you are self-driving
You can reach this camp in your own vehicle, which most people assume is impossible. You do not drive to the camp itself: you drive to Davison's Camp on the edge of the private concession, leave your vehicle there under shelter, and Wilderness collects you from Davison's in one of their vehicles. Your car stays at Davison's for the duration. Wilderness does not push the self-drive arrival, and the reason is the road rather than the camp: with the A8 from Victoria Falls under reconstruction the drive now runs to about six hours, and people arrive worn out.

What the park charges on top
The rate above buys you a bed. Hwange National Park charges its own entry fee for every day you are inside. Here is what that adds up to.
