A chalet-and-campsite camp in Hwange's far north-west, two hours from Victoria Falls, no longer run by ZimParks despite what many guides still say. Under private management it has become the best-value serviced option in the park, with the biggest buffalo herds and the most consistent lion sightings. The campsite is genuinely good, with power at most pitches, though the black-cotton roads turn difficult from late November.

What the park charges on top
The rate above buys you a bed. Hwange National Park charges its own entry fee for every day you are inside. Here is what that adds up to.

Questions about Robins Camp
Can you self-drive to Robins Camp?
Yes. Robins is about two hours' drive from Victoria Falls, and its own FAQ says a high-clearance 2WD is usually fine to reach camp, but you need a 4x4 to drive through the park or do self-guided game drives. Gates open 06:00 to 18:00, and self-drivers must be in camp by 18:00.
What does the rate at Robins Camp include?
Full board with two game activities costs $300 a person in low season and $390 in high season; a meals-only rate starts at $180. Chalet rates include your park fees. Optional game drives are listed at $65 an adult and $33 a child, and laundry is charged separately.
Is Robins Camp good for families?
Robins takes children and prices them in: children up to five pay no conservation fee. Two triple Acacia rooms sleep two adults and a child, and there are three sets of interleading chalets. The catch is walks, which are closed to under-16s unless the guide agrees.
When is the best time to visit Robins Camp?
Robins is open year-round, and its own FAQ names August, September, October and early November as by far the best months for game viewing. From late November the black-cotton roads get difficult, so self-drivers in the rains should check conditions before setting off.
Can you camp at Robins Camp?
Yes. Robins has 25 campsites alongside its 36 chalets, from $40, inside an electric fence with power at most pitches. Campers can use all of the camp's facilities, including Robins Restaurant, where breakfast starts at $10 and dinner at $15 a person.
