Somalisa Acacia

Sail-canvas tented camp · Acacia grove over the Kennedy Vlei, eastern sector · African Bush Camps

A drawing stands in because nobody has sent us a photograph of Somalisa Acacia yet. We only publish images we have permission for. Send us five and this page changes the same week.

Top-end Inside the park Safari company

Reports that this camp closed or merged are wrong; it was repositioned as the family option while its sister camp went adults-oriented. Two interconnecting family suites, a children's programme, and the same concession and elephant pool.

Why you'd pick it

  • The family camp: interconnecting suites, cots, all ages welcome
  • Ngwana Club with junior guide certificates and pizza classes
  • Around 80 per cent of water is recycled

What's here

  • Swimming pool
  • Bar
  • Family rooms
  • Solar or 24h power

Arranged from the lodge:

  • Game drives
  • Guided walks
  • Birding
  • Community visits

Read from Somalisa Acacia's own website in July 2026. Anything not listed we could not confirm, which is not the same as it being absent.

What the park charges on top

The rate above buys you a bed. Hwange National Park charges its own entry fee for every day you are inside, and almost no booking site shows you that.

Park entryThe rate for guests sleeping inside the park.
$12per person, per day
VehicleForeign-registered vehicle, at the staying-inside rate.
$3per vehicle, per day

Three nights means three days inside, so two adults sharing one vehicle pay $81 in park fees before anyone pays for a bed.

Sleeping inside the boundary is what keeps that low. $12 if you sleep inside the park, against $24 a day for anyone driving in from outside.

Rates

From $630 pppn. $1,390 June to October. Priced identically to Somalisa Camp; this is the family camp of the pair.

What the rate covers is not confirmed. We have not been able to check whether meals, drinks and activities are included here, so treat this figure as the bed alone until it is.

Indicative 2026 rates from operators' own rate cards, gathered July 2026. Always confirm with the lodge. One thing to watch when comparing: some camps include ZimParks fees in their rate and some do not, which shifts the real gap by $12 to $36 per person per night.
