Six Meru tents at Dolilo Pan in Hwange's remote north-west near Robins, a genuine seasonal bush camp dismantled every November and rebuilt each April. Walking with a full professional guide is the point of the place, in a sector with high lion density and almost no other vehicles. There is no wifi, no pool and only wood-fired cooking; it is owned by Dave Carson, who founded Camp Hwange and sold it in 2023.

The rate above buys you a bed. Hwange National Park charges its own entry fee for every day you are inside. Here is what that adds up to.

When is Hwange Bush Camp open?
Only from April to November. The camp is closed during the rains, from December to March, and is physically dismantled every November and rebuilt in April. Within the season, July to October is high season, and April to June and November are green season.
Is Hwange Bush Camp good for families?
Only for families with older children. Kazuma Trails does not take children under eight, and the camp is built around walking safaris in a remote sector, with bucket showers and no pool. Ask which walks suit your children's ages before you book.
What does the rate at Hwange Bush Camp include?
Kazuma Trails' rate covers all activities, all drinks, all meals, laundry and emergency medical evacuation. Transfers to and from camp, conservation fees of $23 a person a day, camping fees, gratuities and personal medical insurance are extra, so add those to the nightly rate when comparing.
How do you get to Hwange Bush Camp?
Fly by charter from Victoria Falls Airport to Robins Airstrip, about 25 minutes, or arrange a road transfer. The camp is at Dolilo Pan in the remote north-west near Robins. Internal transfers are waived if you book a private vehicle for your whole stay.
