Five tents in remote Kalahari sand country in Hwange's south-west, the cheapest of Imvelo's camps. The land went unused for nearly twenty years before the camp opened, and it is the only place in Hwange where you explore by mountain bike, on tracks the elephants themselves have compacted through the sand. Expect bucket showers, cooking over flames, no electricity, no wifi and no signal; a minimum two-night stay applies.

What the park charges on top
The rate above buys you a bed. Hwange National Park charges its own entry fee for every day you are inside. Here is what that adds up to.

Is Jozibanini good for families?
We found no published child policy for Jozibanini, so ask when you enquire. Expect a simple camp: five tents, hot-water bucket showers, no cell signal and a remote location six hours by road from the other Imvelo camps.
What does the rate at Jozibanini include?
Imvelo lists accommodation, all meals, soft drinks, beer, wine and local spirits, guided activities and transfers from Libuti Airstrip. Park fees and optional transfers are extra. Rates run from $355 a person to $530 from May to October, with a two-night minimum; Imvelo suggests three nights.
Is Jozibanini good for a honeymoon?
For couples who like simple and remote, yes. Beds are on wheels and can be rolled onto the tent deck so you sleep under the night sky, and the camp has only five tents. There is no cell service, and showers are hot-water bucket showers.
When is Jozibanini open?
Jozibanini is seasonal, and Imvelo says its green-season closure varies, so ask for exact dates before planning a trip in the rains. Imvelo recommends it as a three-night add-on to one of its other Hwange camps.
How do you get to Jozibanini?
Fly an hour from Victoria Falls to Libuti Airstrip, then take a 15-minute road transfer, which is included. Or make the six-hour road transfer from Bomani, Camelthorn or Nehimba as a game drive, with a picnic lunch on the way.
