Nine suites on a 43,500-acre private concession in northern Hwange, fifteen kilometres from Sinamatella, built around ancient seeps where elephants have dug for water for generations. Hundreds gather here in the dry season. The lodge is owned by Imvelo, a Zimbabwean company that maintains roughly a fifth of the waterholes keeping this park alive, so a stay here funds that work directly.

What the park charges on top
The rate above buys you a bed. Hwange National Park charges its own entry fee for every day you are inside. Here is what that adds up to.

Questions about Nehimba Lodge
Is Nehimba Lodge good for families?
Yes, for families with children aged seven and up. Two of the nine suites are family suites, with a king and two three-quarter beds, and up to two children may share with an adult. Children under seven are accepted only by special arrangement, with a separate vehicle and private dining.
Is Nehimba Lodge good for a honeymoon?
There is one large honeymoon suite with a king bed and day bed, and every suite has its own private balcony. The setting is the draw: the lodge is built around the Nehimba Seeps, where hundreds of elephants gather in the dry season.
What does the rate at Nehimba Lodge include?
Imvelo's page lists accommodation, all meals, soft drinks, beer, wine and local spirits, laundry, guided activities and transfers from Shumba Airstrip, Hwange Main Camp and Dete Station. It lists park fees as an add-on, so confirm in writing whether they are in your quote. Rates run from $495 to $745.
How do you get to Nehimba Lodge?
The quickest route is a one-hour charter from Victoria Falls to Shumba Airstrip, then a 20-minute drive. Alternatively, fly to Hwange Main airport and take a two to two-and-a-half-hour game drive in. By road it is 130 km from Victoria Falls to Mbala Gate, then 95 km through the park.
