Nine canvas-and-thatch chalets on stilts on an old riverbed in the Sikumi Forest concession near Dete. The property is run by a Zimbabwean family whose trust funds clinics and schools in Dete, and elephants have a habit of emptying the swimming pool. Being on a private concession allows night drives, which the park itself does not.

Questions about Khulu Bush Camp
Is Khulu Bush Camp good for families?
Only for families with older children. Khulu welcomes children aged 12 and over and asks you to check with its team which activities suit them. For younger children, Amalinda's Ivory Lodge in the same Sikumi Forest takes children from age two inside a fenced camp.
Is Khulu Bush Camp good for a honeymoon?
Yes. Two of Khulu's nine canvas-and-thatch rooms are honeymoon suites with freestanding bathtubs, and there is a pool that elephants drink from. For complete privacy, Khulu's Retreat comes with a private chef, a private guide and a dedicated game drive vehicle.
What does the rate at Khulu Bush Camp include?
Khulu is all-inclusive: accommodation, all meals and drinks and two activities a day, and the rate also covers park fees and transfers. Rates start at $650 a person a night and reach $835 to $838 from June to October.
Does Khulu Bush Camp do night drives?
Yes. Khulu is on a private concession in the Sikumi Forest, which allows night drives, something the national park itself does not permit. The concession also has a sunken photographic hide and treetop platforms.
